Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps

O.V.A.C. holds an annual fund drive to raise money for operating expenses and the purchase of our ambulances and advanced life support equipment, such as defibrillators. We are a not-for-profit organization and we do not receive any funds from the Town or Village of Ossining. Costs of running the day to day operation have increased greatly since our founding in 1958. At that time, you could purchase and outfit an ambulance for under $10,000. Today, the cost of purchasing and stocking an ALS ambulance is well over $100,000. In order to supplement our fund raising activities, O.V.A.C. now bills our patients through a recovery system that collects payments from your health insurance company. This helps assist us with the many expenses involved; the upkeep of our building, training, supplies, vehicles, etc. Memorial gifts are also appreciated and further information can be obtained by calling or sending an e-mail to the webmaster.
